As a child, Elizabeth Burks Llaguno developed an instant love for gardening, which eventually evolved into a passion for design. Today as the principal of Designs by Elizabeth, Llaguno creates custom landscapes in the greater Houston area that bring beauty and functionality to her clients’ outdoor spaces. “Under our direction,” she says, “clients’ unique needs and dreams become a reality. We transform outdoor spaces into their ideal dreamscape.”

During the design phase, Llaguno and her team focus on how owners plan to use their exterior spaces, then create a scheme that provides cohesive flow and seamless transitions into the interiors of the home. By using the latest technology, they can help homeowners see real-life visuals of their project before CAD plans are created, ensuring clients will know what to expect long before the installation begins.

As a horticulturalist, Llaguno ensures that proper bed preparation, irrigation and drainage are in place; she also strives to select unique planting materials that will transform a space, concentrating on native Texas species that thrive in local landscapes. “We ensure a year-round show of color and variation through the use of foliage textures and gorgeous blooming shrubs and perennials,” says Llaguno. “From formal to informal designs, the possibilities are infinite, creative and customized.”

Each member of Designs By Elizabeth's team is a specialist in their own field.  The Designs By Elizabeth landscape foreman and crew have been with the company since 1996.  We bring top professionals from our irrigation specialists, masons, carpenters, electricians and lighting specialist to install and create a lasting and beautiful landscape for our clientele.  Elizabeth personally designs, creates and oversees each project during all phases of her projects.
